Welcome to our New Blog!

Hello everyone!

I know that it has been a while since we have written to everyone, and I apologize, but things have been so busy around here! Julie, (TJ's mom) came out to visit back at the end of September. It was so much fun, we had a blast. We went to the beach, shopping, out to dinner, to old historic sites, etc. She plum wore me out! =) Then, Alyssa came out to visit for a few days and we had so much fun as well! I took her all around Durham. I took her to several historic sites, including old slave houses and the orignal Duke Homestead where we learned how to roll our own cigarrettes! Plus, we made conference apple pie (which was delicious) put a puzzle together, visited the Duke Gardens and Duke Chapel, and took her to the Bridge at Eno State park! We had a lot of fun together! I am so greatful that her and Julie were able to come out and visit. Everyone knows that Durham is not the most appealing place to vacation, but TJ and I sure enjoy the visits!
Well, besides the visits, Tj and I have also been having a great time together! This past weekend was TJ's fall break. This was great not only because TJ had almost a full week off, but it also means he is half way finished with his semester! He is quite excited! He really did enjoy his time off as well. It consisted of a little bit of studying (of course) but also some golfing, sleeping in, camping, hiking, frisbee golf, and best of all a Tractor Pull! Tj was on his own for entertainment on Wednesday and Thursday, but I took Friday off to spend some time with him as well. Friday morning we woke up and went to play Frisbee Golf. It is A LOT of fun! TJ, of course, did much better than I, but we still had fun. We went with several of his classmates and really had a great time! Then, we left to go camping with some friends. We went to a state park called Hanging Rock! It was beautiful and was surrounded with several different hikes and waterfalls! Plus, TJ FINALLY was able to wear his hoodie without being too hot. Then on Saturday we came home, cleaned the house a little and headed off to the North Carolina State Fair! Let's just say, it was SOOOOOO much fun! TJ wanted to go to the Tractor Pull which I was not so sure about! However, once it started it was great! I had never been to one before and this was a WHOLE new experience for me! For those of you who have never been, I would reccomend it! If you go with kids, make sure and take ear plugs! The tractors are great, especially the multiple engine ones! Two of them actually had Jet Engines on them. It was great!
Well, I'm sorry that this is so long, but there is so much to tell you guys! TJ continues to enjoy his schooling. He is learning SOOOO much. He is also becoming a lot closer to some of his classmates which is very beneficial. My work continues to go well. I am learning so much each and every day. Our calling continue to go well. Tj really is enjoying his CTR 5's and they are so cute with so much personality. I am enjoying my nursery kids, they continue to surprise me each and every Sunday!
I hope to hear from you guys, and thanks for visiting our new blog! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

We love you All!

I'm so glad that you are now blogging! I loved looking at your pictures and wish that there could be a section of "Emily's visit" sometime. ($$$)

The tractor pull looked like a lot of fun, and now I am craving ice cream.

Keep the info. coming!
