So, TJ is back hitting the books hard again! He has a test coming up on Monday which he has been studying ALL week for! I can't wait for that test to be over. Actually, I can't wait until this semester is over! =) Oh well, I shouldn't wish my life away right! But, he does only have one more didactic semester left! YIPPPEEEEEE!
So, besides working all week long, which wasn't bad, I really enjoyed my patients this week. I am amazed daily by the people who come into clinic, sometimes I am amazed at their complete stupidity, other times by their kindness, and this week I was amazed at their attitude. I had one lady who came into clinic who had missed previous appointments because she had suffered bilateral retinal detachment. This means that she woke up one morning blind in both eyes, needing emergency surgery, and still is legally blind in one eye and has very poor sight in the other. However, her loss of vision did not hinder her attitude, she was a great example to me. I also met a women who designated herself as a cat rescuer and spends thousands of her own dollars each month on helping stray cats. Now, I know some of you can't think of why she does this, (TJ was one of them) but I found it very compassionate that she would give so much of her temperal means to help animals which she loved. I was very uplifted this week and was greatful for those experiences!
This weekend was also my Father's birthday, so Happy Birthday dad! I have not felt very homesick while I have been out here, but I have to admit I did miss my family when I heard them all in the background as I called to tell him Happy Birthday! I just have to give a big shout out to my family, and TJ's family, and let them know how much we love you guys, how much we really do miss you and how greatful we are to come from such great parents who taught us great lessons in life and helped groom us so that we could be where we are today. Thanks so much to our siblings as well, we both have great memories of our youth and really appreciate the relationships we have with you today!
Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff! =) This weekend was pretty low key. TJ took me to a Durham Bull's game on Friday night, where we were also accompanied by some of his classmates. It was a great game, the weather was fabulous (86), and they even had superb fireworks for the finale. It was a great night out. Saturday, I worked, he studied, then we barbequed on our patio, ran some errands, and fell asleep cheering on the Jazz! GO JAZZ! =)
This week is more studying and Saturday I am hopefully going to hit some garage sales to start to look for some great deals on baby stuff. Let me know, those of you with experience, what I can and can't live without!
Anyway, I hope you guys all have a wonderful week and we love you all!

My header is from my digital scrapbook stuff. It is basically one large picture I created and then imported.
Not that I have personal experience, but my sis-in-law has this really cool car seat that can be attached to a stroller. The carseat is made so the baby can be longer for a bigger amount of time making it so you can use the carseat longer than most. It was the easiest carseat/stroller I have ever seen. She bought it at Babies R Us on a super deal using coupons she found online. I'll get some more info and email you.
As far as baby stuff is concerned, my sisters told me to get "yard sale" stuff, but we went ahead and bought brand new things so that we can use them forever. (We have one of the car seat strollers, and we love it!) But, their stuff seems to have lasted long enough for them. Some, advice though, buy tons of ONESIES in all different sizes. And when you buy diapers and wipes, get them at COSTCO in bulk. Much cheaper.
I have to say that I bought the cutest little girl dress and I just don't think I can part with it except to someone I really really like. So if you don't have to have a girl I might just have to keep it for myself for whenever we decide to have kids.
Michelle! I'm so glad i found your blog (I was blog hopping). I'm so excited that you two are gonna be parents! When are you due? I just had our little one, Ava, in February. She's growing so much and time has flown by so fast. Hope you two are doing great!
